Anaimudi Bike trekking - physically and mentally invigorating

Scenic beauty

The delight of trekking in the rain forests on the Royal Enfield Electra.(the highest peak in South India)
Long 450 K.M ... Continues 18 hours.
And We set off this journey from Cochin,.

Our route was

Cochin->
Chalakuddy->Vadakkancheri->Nenmara->Pollachi-->Valparai->Anaimudi-->Malakkapara->Athirapally->chalakkudy->
Cochin.

Totally 450 Km,

The Royal Enfield electra Bullet is ready, great BUDDA BUDDA sound.
Early morning we started our journey ,exactly 5.30 . climate was good for a bike traveling.

The road is bad and the drive takes double the time particularly on the 40 km ghat section.An experienced rider can scrape the footrest in the U-turns.
A beautiful view point to view Aliar Dam & surrounding mountains of western Ghats.
This is situated in 9 th hairpin bend.Views are breath-taking.
The ride with 40 hairpin bends is a riot of green. The fragrance of wildflowers, the soothing breeze brushing against your cheeks, the sight of waterfalls cascading over green rocks — they are both physically and mentally invigorating.

Mist starts silently swirling up from the valley below. And by the time we reach the top, a green emptiness envelops. With a pleasant climate, you can have fun simply doing nothing
(Occasionally you can light cigar when the mist envelop you).
Not many shops, mechanics or tyre workshop on the way - since the landscape is full of tea gardens.

As dusk sets in, the green landscape turns grey as the mountains stay cloaked. One of our good friends is there and he assure us that a night ride on the forest road can be equally exciting. The deer, bison, elephant and an occasionally panther can cross our path. Exactly we found elephants ,bison,noisy bunch of lion tailed macaques effortlessly gliding among treetops.
(No panther...Very sad. hehe).

I planed to write these blogs on my personal website dhanesh.com
Unfortunately my Blog section is under development.
I think its enough to write on this blogger.com
